Mailing lists are lists of people an dtheir e-mail addresses. They are used when a copy of e-mail needs to be distributed to people in a particular group. For example, if you were working as part of a team and needed to send each member the same e-mail you could set up a mailing list. Every time you needed to send the members of the team e-mail, you could use the list which would save time.
